Re: Free Recoil Zero Shift

I've been struggling with this same thing. Posted about in on the Basics forum. I try and shoot at the range like I would in the range. I've found that my groups are much smaller when I hold the foreend. Rearward pressure towards my shoulder. If I don't try and hold the gun the kick and muzzle flip is fairly severe.

What caliber are you shooting ? Have you got a muzzel break on it ??light bulb
I have found that a good break really helps a lot on the larger magnum calibers...maybe I'm getting soft in my old age but it seems like I'm more subjective to the recoil than I use to be...or perhaps I just expect more now than then ?

The break is the key....not much fun without one.

Re: Free Recoil Zero Shift

7mm magnum. The gun and scope are fairly heavy so recoil isn't as bad as the upward bucking of the barrel.
