Lerch,
Well done, good shooting, nice photos, thanks for sharing though I almost got a hart attack with the <font color="blue">"I squeezed the trigger, and squeezed, and kept squeezin and"... </font> well I think it flavored up the writting very nicely. Congratualtions.

It's happening again!!! God sent to us His prophet, and His Word
to this generation and we once more are rejecting it as was prophesied!!!

Re: First Blood for the 6br!!!!!

Bill
We tried to shoot some crows off an elk gut pile at 1 mile.
the elk was killed the day before just before dark, I thought I'll go look over the gut pile from a distant ridge (close to the cabin)the next morning.
there were two yotes on it . No way to range that far, but ranged some rocks at 1100 with the leica and estimated the rest!
sent one down range and the dogs took off. (unscathed)
10 minutes and the magpies and crows were on it.
made some adjustments and sent a few down range walking them in! missed a few by inches!!
Those crows are smart!! couple shots close and they were gone!
the magpies came back but not the crows.
Never got one but it was a great morning sittin on that cliff with the old man, wastin lead!
He was on the spoting scope calling the shots and I think he was having more fun than I was if thats possible!

Re: First Blood for the 6br!!!!!

Lerch, awesome pictures, great story, and good shooting!!!

Lerch, I am thinking about using the 105grn A-Max in my new 6x284 project. I am looking at using the Lupua 105grn Scenar too. However, I am thinking the shots from 100 to 500 yards on varmints, the A-max will be a better bullet for splat factor. Shots from 600 to 1000 yards, I will switch over to the 105grn Scenar because it has the higher BC, and I've read that it's BC is actually better than advertised.

I know the 105grn A-max can only be pushed to around 3200fps, or can it be pushed a bit faster. What is your take on using the 105grn A-Max out to 1000 yards. I would like to hear your opinion.

Re: First Blood for the 6br!!!!!

Lerch,

Loved the story and really enjoyed the pics thats a nice ram. Your story really hits home for me due to the fact that here in Hawaii all our game species are exotics. I had to laugh when you said how bad he stunk brought back memories

Kirby I know how you feel buddy I love to hunt Axis they are my favorite to hunt. To me there's few animals that can match a huge axis buck in beauty. Goodluck in getting your buck!

Thanks Again for sharing and good shooting!

Aloha, Dave
