I am new here and new to long range hunting. I was hoping you would be kind enough to explain the "Shawn Carlock high shoulder hold". Next year will be my first elk hunt and I want to do it right.

I have been waiting for a high shoulder shot to present itself this year, it just looks devastating on all the videos. I am shooting 200 gr Accubond. I hope to see the effects in person. Anything that anchors an elk where it stands looks good enough to try. There isn't all that much meat up there anyway. Up until now, all I have seen are cows and spikes, hope to see a legal bull one of these days...
