Energy is not even in the discussion. If anybody thinks a 225 grain 338 bullet will not kill at 1200 yards out of a big 338 they have very little experience in this business. For extreme range over 1200 yards the heavies take over. I am testing some cutting edge 260 grain mid .7 bc this week. The new 300 Bergers are excelent long range bullets however there are other choices depending on your situation.

Each hunter must look at exactly his hunting style and where most of his shots are going to be and use a bullet that gives the best performance within those parameters.
For the price of the cutting edge bullets I'll pass thank you!! I can buy two box's of berger's for less than one box of the Cutting edge's!! I will say they shoot nice but I just can't justify the cost for as much as I shoot!! You can have all you want.

I don't think I ever said that the 225 cutting edge bullets wouldn't kill out to 1200 yards!! I was just saying they aren't what I was wanting for my 338. There is a reason why there are so many bullets and calibers available for us to choose from. It's so we can find something to fit our needs, and that is why there is no one perfect do all caliber/bullet!! I have read many of your past posts about your success with them. I have had good results with them as well. Myself like allot of others I am not made of money, so I not only have to shoot what I can afford but what also works for MY particular application!!
