Do you shoot an Ackley Improved round? Which one?

    Lets see hear all AI rounds 17 hornet,17mach 4,20mach4, 22 hornet,20-223, 223, 22-250, 243, 25-06, 280 I think that is all of them. Tim

    No, you can turn just about any cartridge to Ackley improved. As long as it had less than a 40 degree shoulder to start with, you just rechamber with a 40 degree shoulder and it becomes Ackley Improved. The funniest Ackley has got to be the .22 Eargesplitten Loudenboomer (.22-378AI :eek.

    I have a 243 AI and am shooting 105gr Amax's with great results out to 600. I had 308Nate put one of his brakes on it and now can watch my hits even up close.

    I had a .223 A.I. Still have a .257 A.I. that my dad gave me. Love the round.

    i also shoot mostly 243 loads in an ai version. brass lasts forever.. no trimming, just neck size and go
