Coyote meets 300 win mag

I gave a coyote a texas heart shot today at 200 yards with a 168gr hpbt hornady match bullet at 3400 fps. The bullet went in and did not come out. Spun the yote 180 degrees. I was amazed to walk up and not see any blood. I mean none at all. Threw him in the truck and drove home. Expected to see blood from his nose and mouth in the back of the truck, but nothing. I cannot believe the bullet did not come out.

Re: Coyote meets 300 win mag

168gr hpbt over 79.4 gr of RL-22, nosler brass, and Fed 215M match primers lighting it off. My rifle is an accurized Rem 700 action with a 28 and 5/8" Ted Gaillard (canadian) barrel in an HS stock topped with a 6.5-20 X 50mm Leupold Tactical scope mounted in matched Farrel rings and 20MOA base. I will try to post my last group shot at 560 yards and some picture of the yote. It is 3 shots within an inch.

Re: Coyote meets 300 win mag

Sorry guys there will be no pictures. I had put the yote outside on top of an old truck cab so that it would be out of reach of my dog and yesturday when I got home from work I went out with my camera and knife to go take some pictures and it was gone. It appears the some coyotes robbed me. They will have to answer for there actions this weekend. A friend is bring his new foxpro over.

I have the foxpro caller. It is by far the best caller on the market. Good luck this weekend!
