Bolt vs semi auto...!!!! clasic :=)

ok here we go with a clasic debate. pls dont change the situation or the debate as the thread goes on....

so is a semi auto really beter in a medium range stand off fire fight against multiple targets than the bolt gun?????

l belive not as a semi auto incoreges the shooter to shoot more rapidly and makes him porne to many bad first shots on each taget. ( l know this from quail hunting..l concider my self a good shooter and hunter. l come home with 50-60 quail without missing any shots with my over and under and when l take a semi auto out hunting a tend to get careless. doesnt mater how much l try and concintrate.. the ancoreging felling of having alot of rounds to lay down range makes me become careles when puting leed on the target. ))

so would like to get your reviews on this. but make shure you know the situations are a medium ranged stand off from 500 _ 200 yards. ( so the enemy isnt comeing through the chimney or your windows :=))
sorry for any spelling mistakes.

Are you referring to some type of self defense situation? I think I'm missing something in your post.

Well if it came to that I would take these 50 guys with bolt actions, over 250 average infantrymen with semi-autos.

Re: Bolt vs semi auto...!!!! clasic :=)

your right about getting careless with more rounds to send down range immediately, but the higher rate of tends to keep folks heads down. my choice would be to not end up in that situation to begin with, if forced in it i'd try to back off and increase the distance and use a hyper accurate bolt gun, if not possible, gimme a gas gun and a $&$# ton of ammo, cause im probably cornered any way, may as well make it a helluva mess.
