Boar meets 270WSM AccuBond

Went on a 3 day hunt in South Texas last winter. I was well prepared for some long range action, but it turned out the boar I shot was only 82 yards. 270 WSM 140gr Accubond worked perfect. My friend got his at 52 yards with his 44 using 270gr Gold Dot FP. Both one shot kills. Mine was 195lb and his 155lb, sure made for some fine tenderloin every night over a muskete fire. We got both shots on video also. Do not even need the video to remind me of the great time we had out there.
Here are a few pics:

Very cool. Great pics. The 270 WSM must be just about optimal for boars. Your stick looks a lot like my browning 270 WSM a-bolt.

I think I'm gonna put boar hunting in the south above my Alaska wolf hunt (I'm guessing it's much easier to get a boar).

A 200 lb boar is pretty tough - how long did he take to die - where did you hit him and what damage did the AB do?

Nice pic's, glad you folks had a good hunt. I know just what you mean on the fresh tender loin, it goes good just about any way you cook it.

Over the past few years, I have all but given up chasing those whitetails around, in pursuit of the hogs. They are much more fun to hunt. Just seems that you end up with more in the freezer per shot when it is all said and done.

This is not to say that if the "right" buck slips up, I won't be there, just it would take a really awesome one to top the last one I took.

The 140 gr Accubond went in behind the shoulder, exited behind the other shoulder, and just made jelly out of the lungs. Broke 2 ribs on the way out. At the site, we found several pieces of rib bone and a piece of lung. He twirled and kicked like a bucking bronco and ran about 50 yards without a drop of blood. All the blood stayed inside. About the same story with the smaller one with the 44, but a little less damage. Despite a sucessful hunt, we decided it was only head shots after that. Those are some tough dudes for sure, much tougher and much more fun than deer.
