Best scope under $300?

I'm going to buy a new scope for a .22, any opinions on which scope is best for under $300 with a max power of 12-16x? Buckmaster, vx-1, fullfield, or anything else?

Re: Best scope under $300?

There are several scopes on that price range that would work. My first choice would be the 4-12 Vortex Diamondback. We sell them for less than $300. $269 if I remember right.

The Bushnell Elite would be another great choice. But Vortex wins in the customer service and warranty dept.

My .02

I can't disagree with that, but the Nikon Prostaff and Buckmaster series are worth looking at. I have both and love them!

Re: Best scope under $300?

Nikon makes excellent scopes. Vortex just came to mind first since they are based in the US and the warranty is the best there is.

Essentially you get Leupolds warranty at a lower price.

Re: Best scope under $300?

I currently have a Nikon BuckMaster 6-18x and a Monarch 6.5-20 and both are good scopes. The Monarch I have had close to 20 yrs and recently (last year) sent it back to Nikon to have the Adjustable Objective (AO) calibrated. Full warranty. Think I paid $7 to ship it to Cale-forn-e-i-a. Had it back on my rifle in two weeks. Very smooth. JohnnyK.

JohnnyK--- Monarch's are GREAT scopes (one of the best on the market) in my opinion. Worth every penny!

Monarchs are great... but typically over the $300 csafisher is looking to spend.
