What is the berger 30 cal 230 grain OTM bullet designed for?

Also, what speeds are you getting with this bullet.

I am getting 2900fps from a 30-378 WBY.

The 230 OTM was designed to retain a high BC yet be more tolerant of seating depth than VLDs.

As such, it may fit mag boxes when VLDs must be seated long for best accuracy.

It's categorized as a tactical bullet and hasn't been tested specifically for hunting by Berger.

Some here have used them for hunting with great success.

I've been getting 2670 with H1000 and 2700 with Retumbo from my 300WM.

DOES 2900 fps seem right for the 30-378?

you could go faster in a 30-378 I am sure, my 300 ultra is running over 3,100 fps with the 230's
