Anyone shot the Barnes .338 Tipped TSX

Has anyone shot the .338 Barnes Tipped TSX yet, know approx B.C., or have a starting load for a .338 Edge I will have my new Defensive Edge Canyon Rifle here this coming week and curious about this bullet for a second load. My primary will obviously be with the 300 grain SMK but am thinking of doing something lighter and faster with still a high B.C. and maybe with not so much expansion. If I do ever draw my Rocky Mountain Goat tag I'd hate to blow holes in the cape.

Re: Anyone shot the Barnes .338 Tipped TSX

I shoot 210 TTSX's out of my .338 RUM. They are a pretty sweet bullet. Shot two black bears this spring with them and they worked great. I cant remember the B.C off hand but It's in the mid .4's. I think .451 G1. Its on the barnes web site anyway.
With 96.5 grains RL 22 I get 3390 fps and am 3.5 MOA low at 400 yards. after that I use the 300 SMK. I was actually suprised running the numbers on the two. The 300 SMK (MV of 2764) passes the 210 TTSX at about 900 yards for drop (but the SMK destroys it with windage and energy/momentum).

The TTSX 225 grain has a BC of .514 and is the best of the Barnes TTSX bullet for long range IMHO. The newer 265 and 285 give up to much velocity and do not have a high enough BC to best the 225TTSX to 1K

I shoot the 225 TTSX in my .340wby, according to my ballistics tables the BC is pretty close to what Barnes claims but I have only tested them out to 800.

Re: Anyone shot the Barnes .338 Tipped TSX

I just started working up a load for my 338 Ultra mag with the 225s using RL 25. With 97.5grs I am pushing them out at 3350 fps. My first test loads were .050 off the lands.

How are you guys seating them?

Tarey

Care to expand on that?
From what Barnes says the 265 will have a BC of .610-.620?

Edit
Just talked to Ty at Barnes and the finalized BC is .575.....Which since I have 20 Boxes....Sucks
