acceptable accuracy

what is acceptable accuracy/group size? at various ranges.... 1MOA? 1/2MOA?

That pretty much depends on what you want to hunt.

Elk hunters have a pretty big kill zone to hit while those who hunt Prairie Dogs have a fairly narrow one.

I hunt coyotes, but I don't leave them lay or let them run off wounded. I lose a couple each year, but not for lack of effort on my part.

Coyotes give me a 4" kill zone. My range is limited to the distance I can shoot groups 4" or under.

A 1/2 MOA rifle will give me only 800 possible yards of range.
