    liltank,

Must be a PA thing. I've been dreaming about a 8mmX300RUM for several years now and I'm getting really close to starting a build. Just searched Midway and there are a lot more good 8mm bullets than there used to be!! Exciting stuff.

I have experience with a 8mm Mauser but this would be a whole new ball game. I'm glad to hear a good report about the 8mm mag. I've heard lots of poor accuracy complaints about it in the past. I think it was Jarrett that pointed the blame toward Rems choice of barrels for it?

"Thunderstruck" is a nice looking project and a great way to keep a good rifle from slipping into retirement.

Love it,trying to find another but everyone is backordered.Accuracy has never been an issue with this 8 mag,it shoots a ragged hole at 100 if the shooter does his job with handloads. If you think Barnes are junk its obvious you have no experience using them on game,Ive got a pile of trophys on the wall that would argue that, nothing penetrates better at long range, and thats what this project is about.

I'm a rookie on 8mm but wouldn't you get better BC out of bullets that were a bit heavier for caliber?
