Jeff! here are some pics of stix! all legs are on a hinge,
The 2 legs that are next to the trigger are a little shorter (when folded forward) so you can use them as a bypod.
the 5th leg never needs adjusting for most ground but is nice to extend it for steep hills
My brothers stix he just holds the 5th leg against one of the front stix and that works good to.
The stix are not that good for animals that are on the move,
But for animals that are walking and milling around you can't beat it (other than bench rest) But when you get your gun in both v's and 5th leg in the ground you can see where the movement is next to nothing Hope this helps.

I wouldn't call it a luxury, I would call it the capability. If I want or need to make a long shot, I have the capability BECAUSE I practice and have the right equipment. Once you have that confidence in your capability, you have the luxury of being able to hunt any way you please.

Roy Very interesting shooting sticks. I like the stabilty they have on your weapon. Is or could the 5th adjustable leg be spring loaded or does it work perfect as is? IP

could be spring loaded! but works pretty good like it is (Solid)I thought about spring too but could not get it figured out to keep it solid,
takes about 3-5 seconds to get gun on it, all the hinge points are loose so it expands by just a little forward motion and releasing your fingers around the stix,

Excellent shot on the goat!!
I've shot several coyote's in the head, but, never pass 300 yds.

One thing about it...you didn't ruin any meat!!
