Re: 6.5x47 build with pics and load data

My Jon Beanland 6.5x47L will do this on a regular basis from 600 yds. on a decent day. I called the two rounds at the slight upper left! This was the first 5 shot group I fired with it from 600 and it wasn't centered but at that time I was just seeing what it would do. This was with 38.5 grs. Varget/BR4 Primer/123 gr. SHPBT seated slightly into the lands! The card is 2 7/8" length.

Capt academy- Jim bullock of JBJ custom guns out of new waverly tx builds all my rifles. He actually sponsors me now. He has yet to build a rifle for me or any of my clients that didn't shoot under 10" at 1000. His contact info is 936-436-9380. He's an excellent rifle smith. Builds a he'll of a 1911 also.

Sharpsman- looks like u have a great shooter! Its a great feeling knowing your rifle is capable of such accuracy isn't it??!!

What's REALLY NICE....is knowing that Jon Beanland can build a rifle that will do this with REAL REGULAR CONSISTENCY!! Not only has Jon built this rifle for me....but he has built several rifles for my son that will do the same thing.....in various calibers!

Yes sir.....IT'S NICE!!

Hope you had a MERRY CHRISTMAS....and a good coming NEW YEAR.....in spite of the IDIOT in the White House!!

Re: 6.5x47 build with pics and load data

Hey guys! I'm new to this forum but not new to the shooting world. I'm in the process of waiting for my 6.5x47L to get finished. So far I have 107, 120, and 130 grain bullets. However I can't seem to find any real max and mins for determining my load. I'm not asking anyone to share their pet loads, I just want to know the ranges that you have tried. I agree with the original post, in that I live in SW Pennsylvania and the temperature is forever changing. Therefor I prefer to use H4350, Varget, or even IMR4350. If you have any input on powder charge ranges for the components I listed above, please help me out! Anything is appreciated.

Re: 6.5x47 build with pics and load data

I would start around 37 gr and go up to 41 with 130 gr bullets. No higher unless your don't have a sticky bolt or ejector marks. That's with h4350. I stopped at 42 with my 123's and didn't care to go hotter. Shot too good at 3020 fps. 29" barrel.
