Re: 6.5-284 for elk?

I honestly think more people would kill elk better as just hunters with something like a 6.5-284. I just have seen way to many men, women and children shoot something way to big and suck at placing bullets with the magnums. A 6.5-284 is a decent little round and if they are hit good will do the job fine. But also are a lot easier to shoot to make a better shot.

I'm in the process of having one of these built, and love hearing all of the capabilities of this cool little cartridge. Not trying to hijack, but would love to hear some more hunting experiences with the 6.5x284!

Well I don't have much experience with mine yet but it did a nice job on mountain lion at 600.
