~500YD bullet for 260 Rem.
Having a custom rig built for the wife by the fine guys at GA Precision in 260 rem. trying to decide what bullets to try out of it without having to buy them all. I have had really good success with accubonds out of the 270wsm and 7mm RUM at distances beyond 600. Looking at 5 different bullets, Scirocco II, Accubond, Interbond, TTSX, Berger VLD Hunting for her to use out to about 500 yds. the majority of her shooting is under 300 yds but would like her to have the option of shooting out to 500 (with my supervision) Any suggestions to narrow my results? Thank you

We see a lot of theads come up like this and there is always one question that we have to ask? What are you hunting? What's the twist rate?

Re: ~500YD bullet for 260 Rem.
I killed a cow elk at a little under a quarter mile with 130 bergers in my 260(8twist). One shot right where it needed to be. She stumbled around and fell within yards of where she was shot.

Will be used for whitetails and barrel has a 1:8 twist.

120 Bal-Tip is extremely accurate in my experience. Might be a little fragile for deer inside 300.

Re: ~500YD bullet for 260 Rem.
With my 8" twist/26" #4 lilja I have tried 130 Accubonds, 140 A-max, and 140 Bergers. The Bergers shot the best. All bullets were loaded just off the lands.
