350gr VLD LAZZERONI 9.53(.375)Saturn®

Sierra has just re-released the .375 caliber 350gr Matchking bullet ,,,,,, .800+ BC ,,,,,

they sent me a bunch of them, I am going to get them all lubricated and try them out in a special custom made 11 twist barrel, in Lazzeroni caliber 9.53 (.375) Saturn ,,,,,,

on paper ballistics look impressive ,,,,,,,

has anyone here used this bullet when Sierra sold them a few years ago ? ,,,,,,

Re: 350gr VLD LAZZERONI 9.53(.375)Saturn®

Many or at least several on here have shot the 350 SMK.

I shoot them out of a 375 cartridge at a comfortable 3250 FPS MV and unbelievable accuracy. Twist is 1-10.

Great to hear they are making another run of them. I'll try a box to see if anything has adversely changed. If they still shoot good I'll buy a lifetime supply.

Over the next little while I'll be validating bc out towards 2000 yards. The published 0.818 seems darn close @ 4488' elevation.

Roy ,,,,,,,,

well, I won't be shooting them quite that fast, but 2,945 fps with 28" P5 11 twist barrel out of the Lazz 375 Saturn is easily achievable at 66,000 PSI pressure ,,,,,

the cool thing is that the rifle platform will be no larger than our other model 2012 hunting rifles, so at least a mortal man can carry it up the mountain ,,,,,

and 2,888 ft pounds of energy on the animal at 1,000 yards ! I don't know of much else out there that can compare for a hunting type rifle ,,,,,

these numbers are substantially higher than the 338 Lapua or anything else in the 338 bore, and the wind drift numbers are almost exactly the same as the big 338s ,,,,,,,,

Re: 350gr VLD LAZZERONI 9.53(.375)Saturn®

we have modified a new Lazzeroni model 2012 reciever to accept special bottom metal and a 3-round removable mag box, with an internal mag box length of just over 3.9" ,,, which is long enough to allow the ogive of the 375 dia, 350gr Sierra bullet to be seated far out against the barrel lands and still fit in the magazine box ,,,,,,

I should be shooting the new rifle in the raw very soon ,,,,,, I will post photos here when I do ,,,,,

new ballistics data to 1,000 yards for the new Lazzeroni 9.53 (.375) Saturn round here http://www.lazzeroni.com/ct_lacart.htm ,,,,,

John, that should be pretty serious medicine.

Re: 350gr VLD LAZZERONI 9.53(.375)Saturn®

Len ,,,,,,

absolutely is serious medicine, when you consider that the energy on the animal at 1,000 yards with the big Lazz Saturn, is equivalent to the Lazzeroni 7.82 (.308) Warbird caliber at 400 yards !

I mean hey, the Lazz 7.82 Warbird is one of THE most powerful hunting calibers in the world, and the new Saturn just blows it away ,,,,,,,,,

certainly more recoil & carry weight up the mountain, so the new Lazz Saturn is not for everyone,,,,, but it is what it is, and there is not much else out there to match it, especially anything factory loaded ,,,,,,
