.338 Lapua & Nosler Accubond Bullets

Ijust picked up some 225 gr. Nosler Accubond bullets and would like to load them in my .338 Lapua.I have H4831sc, Retumbo, IMR4350, and IMR7828 on hand.I however cannot find any load data for this combination. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I don't have a load specific to the Lapua, but I do have one for the .338 RUM. Given that the RUM case is slightly smaller, it should be a decent starting point.

Repeat, these loads are for the .338 RUM!
H4831SC, 90.5 grains, 3095 fps
WC852(s), 97.6 grains, 3236 fps (max load)
H1000, 103 grains, 3106 fps

Some of these are "warm" loads, and should be worked up to. My RUM likes WC852 and 4831 for that weight bullet, It's a fairly "full" load. I'd expect something similar, maybe leaning towards a slightly slower powder if your barrel is longer. Mine's 26".

According to my Quickload, Norma MRP looks to be the most 'accurate' load, however your IMR 7828 is pretty close as well. Unfortunately I dont' have any data on Retumbo in the program yet. Here's the numbers:

Norma factory ammo has been very accurate -and that has drawn me toward using MRP. Before that I was planning to use Vihtavouri 160 (with Nosler 180 BTs). Does Quickload actually suggest which will be more accurate - or have I misunderstood?!

In a nutshell, it does, but you must remember it's a model, and so must be trued to actual firings. One of their selling features is you can spend a LOT of time prefecting a load without the program, or you can use the program to get you close to the optimum then spend much less time at the range and just fine tuning. I picked it up after a frustrating summer trying different combinations using methodologies such as ladder, modified ladder, etc (what a waste!). After a little modeling I built a load and was shooting .5 MOA right off the bat. Needless to say I was impressed.

There are a few tips to know when using the program, one of the first things I found out is on average, slow powders make for poor accuracy.

Just to add, I also own a 300WM. Norma MRP models as the most accurate powder for this caliber, however there are others that come close. I went with Hodgdon H4350 'cause I hunt in hot and cold weather and want temperature stability.
