.308Win vs. .308 Win Imp.

Has anyone had experience rechambering a .308 to improved?? I am considering this for my Omark 44D to launch 55gr projectiles, but am unsure if there will be much performance gain. Quickload is suggesting i might get 4200fps with a N110 or slightly slower with N120.
Cheers

Re: .308Win vs. .308 Win Imp.

Performance will improve max 5% over orig case. Alot depends on the barrel and projectile. sometimes the increased vel doesn't help because the barrel tuning likes it slower.

Only one way to find out.

thanks for the info. based on quickloads calculations i might get another 200fps. Barrel twist is 1 in 12.

Need to get it onto the range and work up some loads , really looking forward to seeing what these custom 55gr .30cal projectiles will get up to.
