My personal experiance with caribou is they lick the dust when ya hit em right. Sounds like you got a good thing going. When a bullet does not pass through, it usually means most of the bullets energy has been spent on the game. Now visualize hitting em with a FMJ. 2 holes and minimal energy is spent. Long range shooting is a process that ends with a result. Once you start to focus on the result (how bad your last shot was, how big the group is going to be, what your buck will score, what your match score is, what place you are in...) then you loose the capacity to focus on the process.
