I shoot a 7mm and love it. 168 Bergers at 3075 gps is very impressive. The 7 mm has as many good bullets as the 30cal. But the 300 win mag is equally impressive.

As for a muzzle break, is it absolutely need, No! Does it mke it much nicer to shoot and spot your shots, Yes. I would put a break on it.

Both will suite you great.

If you decide on the 300 win mag you should check out the 700 LTR, I have one and it groups under MOA with most factory loads from 180 grain and heavier. They come with a fluted stainless 26" barrel, aluminum bedding block composite stock, and a 40X externally adjustable trigger. I have not put a brake on it and I can usually go three to four 5 shot groups before I put it away for the day. It is lighter than the Sendero as well if you are going to do much hiking while you hunt. Just another option. Good luck.
