280AI Help?

I have just purchased a Remington CDL SF in 280rem and I am going to have the chamber reamed to 280AI my question is what all do I need to have done or what do I need to make sure is done I have heard I need to make sure that the barrel is set back to get the correct chamber to be able to still fire 280rem factory loads in it if need be I am new to wildcats but not to shooting and reloading. Any Proes and Cones to this caliber would also be apprectiated.

Tell your Smith that you want to shoot factory 280 ammo in it and he will head space it accordingly

The only factory ammo for the 280 AI is nosler and I wouldn't use it (Cost to much, and accuracy
is reported not to be to good.

Use the Remington ammo or buy the Norma brass and reload it.(Winchester is sized to small
to get good fire forming).

The 280 AI SAMMI spec is a few thousandths longer for the AI so after head spacing with the
280 head space gauge you may have to set your dies to match your chamber.(No problem
because it is only 2 or 3 thousandths.

It is a great round and if set up correctly simple to load for.

Or you could go with the .280 Sherman and gain a little extra! The process would be the same as the A.I. and you would use the same brass.....Rich
