270 win fusion ammo for elk?

Looking for ammo, for elk and I had it narrowed down to Federal Prem. Accubonds or Partitions for my .270. Then I read an article and some comments on the Fusion ammo. I have read good things about it and how accurate it is.

Anybody tried this out on elk?

In my opinion, avoid them. My brother-in-law has shot an elk and a deer with them with his 30-06 and they both ran away with little to no blood trail.

We found the elk two days later, 4 miles from the shot, dead. Poor penetration and terrible fragmentation. The deer was dead but over two miles away and it passed clean through with a 30 cal exit hole. Both shots were high in the lungs. I guess the end result was a dead animal, but that's a lot of tracking to do.

Just my experience with them. Take it for what it's worth.
