243 win and Hogdon H100V

The Hogdon reloading page claims 3100 fps with a 100 grain 243 bullet. 43.7 gr. hogdon H100V

Cartridge Loads - Hodgdon Reloading Data Center - data.hodgdon.com

My question is: has anybody done some chronographs using H100v to verify the higher speed with this powder

Re: 243 win and Hogdon H100V

I'm getting 2970 out of my 6.5x284 with a 27 inch barrel shooting the 140 berger. I have shot it over my ohler chrono from 3 degres above zero all the way into the low 90's and I only get about a 20 fps spread in velocities. I really like it. It meters out alot better than the stick powders.

Re: 243 win and Hogdon H100V

Have been using H100V in my 270WSM and 300WSM (Sako 85s) and have been getting velocities 100fps faster than posted on Hodgdon charts. Getting 3400fps on 130 Nos. PT in the 270WSM, for example. Very accurate loads as well.

Anyone using it in a 6.5. Creedmoor? I've been looking at this powder for some time now

Haven't tried in 6.5 Creedmore but did in 30-06 with great results. Once again 100fps higher than charted with 220 grain Nosler Partition. I'd buy a pound. gun.

Re: 243 win and Hogdon H100V

Just for the heck of it I did some 243 chrono testing. H superformance and other powders. IMO H superformance could work in 26 inch or longer barrel with 100's and 107 gr. The best seems to be Hybred 100 V and just settle in on 3200 fps

My rifle is a 26 inch rem 700 9 1/4 twist

Hodgdon superformance powder

I only had 100 gr spbt's It could have been loaded higher, but the case was nearly full

46.5 gr 3148 with a dev of only plus or minus of 12 fps for 5 shots 85 degrees 4600 feet elevation. chrono 20 feet from the barrel

Ramshot hunter

45.9 3197 avg dev 27 fps for 5 shots

H-100V

45.4 3241 avg dev 8 fps

44.8 3204 avg dev 6 fps

R-22

48 gr. 3140 avg dev 38 fps

IMR 4831

44.2 3172 avg 34 fps

Accurate 2700 75 gr HP

46.6 3564 avg dev 45 fps
