230 grain berger otc ????????

I have been reading about the 230 Berger OTC bullet.
What does OTC mean ?
How does it compare to the 210 Berger hunting vld that I am currently shooting?
How does it shoot for you out of a 1-10 twist barrel ?

I really like the looks of the 215 beside the 210 . I havent seen the 230 beside the 215. I wander if they do blow up up close ? I used to shoot 155 AMAX out of my 300 rum and it blew every thing into mush !!! ( I really liked that)

I may have to try some 230's at 1000 and see how well they shoot for me in the wind compared to my 210's . After all I need all the help I can get

Like you, I have a 300rum. I shoot the 208amax at 3200fps. I chose the Amax over the VLD because of its superior BC. Then when the 230 came out, I ran some numbers and found that the superior BC of the 230 provided no advantage until 1200+ yards (this was due to the fact that the 230 had a lower starting velocity than the 208). Since 1200 is farther than I will shoot at deer or antelope, I stayed with the Amax. Given that the 215hybrid can be shot at similar velocities to the 208 AND it has a superior BC, the 215 is certainly something to consider.

Not sure what OTC means though. The term I have always heard is OTM. My understanding is OTM = Open Tip Match

Now that I think about it, OTC = Over The Counter. As far as I know, you do not need a prescription to purchase or posses Berger bullets!
