215 Hyrbrids 300 RUM Questions...

I have an opportunity to get some of the 215 hybrids to load up for my 300 RUM, but I would really like to keep these at magazine length (3.6 COAL). I have heard the 215's aren't that sensative to seating depth, but I want to make sure that I should be okay loading them up that far off of the lands. Is anyone else doing this? Most of the loads I found when searching the forum are all out closer to the lands, so it just makes me wonder.

Thanks!

I load them box lenght in my Remington 300 ultra sendero and they will shoot one hole.

I have found this bullets shoot well at different seating depths . Buy them and try them , I found H1000 has been better powder for me than retumbo , better velocity and no presser signs .

Awesome, that is what I was hoping to hear. What were your different loads and velocities, if you don't mine me asking? Both for the H1000 and Retumbo if you have it. Thanks!

Try them you will like how they shoot. When I did load development on my 300 RUM they were very forgiving. Shot good at almost all seating depths. But I ended up going COAL of 3.843". So it is now a single shot. I also use H-1000 and have been happy with it. My friend uses Retumbo in his 300 RUM and it shoots very good as well. Both guns are Sendero's.

Re: 215 Hyrbrids 300 RUM Questions...

I have a few good loads with Retumbo and H1000 and the 215g Berger Hybrids out of my Sendero 300RUM.
The Retumbo was a little faster than the H1000. Both gave me some nice groups however I would say that the H1000 was just slightly more forgiving and has a wider sweet spot in the grain weight.
I have been running them just a little long of magazine length so that I can place one down in the mag and another in the chamber. Thus basically a two shot rifle. I have not tried to play with the seating depth at all yet to see if seating a little further will affect the group any. That is next on my list of things to do prior to my elk hunt.
