Kevin - it is a blast out here and the terrain is completely different than the east. The public lands to hunt on are huuuuuuuuge!

BTW - thanks for building this great rifle. It has performed flawlessly!

looking good guys. Interesting in hearing the complete after action report once you guys are back. Hopefully those JLKs are doing the job. And wish you guys the best of luck over the remaining days. Stay safe out there!

At those distances and speeds is it doubtful you recovered any projectiles?

Re: 2 VA LRHers in eastern WY

James and Matt,

JLKs are unfortunately not performing very well, at least so far. On the two antelopes we shot yesterday, two shots on each, 3 of the rounds penciled through, I believe this is due to the tighter meplat on them vs the Berger, as otherwise they are almost identical. we recovered the bullet from my second shot in the hind quarter, fully intact, after traveling diagonally across the entire animal!
However my first shot just about gutted the lope were he stood.. Was quartering slightly towards me seems to have tumbled or exploded as it blew a 3-4" exit with guts hanging out, also punched the lungs and liver with this shot, killing shot, just exited midsection.

Oliver-
damn - sorry to hear the JLKs ain't performing. Beyond the meplat, maybe they also have the target jacket instead of the hunting jacket. See you guys later,
-James
