1000yrd hog

I've been trying to get a pig at a 1000yrds with my edge for some time now and last night it finally came together. I set a feeder up on my range because out here in this flat land of south texas range finder will not work that well so i know how far i'm shooting cheating to you guys out west i'm sure. but till they get a range finder that works better this is just the way i have to do it and being texas i have to put up with cows. Thanks Kirby.

Re: 1000yrd hog

Great shot Jeff !!!!

My kind of guy . I shoot hogs as long as I can see them and distance is not an issue
because they need killing/controlling. As long as I can make them squeal I'm happy.

This past weekend I downed 3 but no where near as far as you did.

That is one good pig.

PS; The live decoys were a nice touch.

Re: 1000yrd hog

Jeff,

Great shot, my 8 and 10 yr olds loved the video, they had to come over and see why dad was laughing his butt off. Although apparently I've got some teaching to do, they wanted to know why the pig didn't run when he heard the gunshot I guess we need to have the "talk" speed of sound vs speed of bullet.

Re: 1000yrd hog

wow what a shot! i just got back from a south texas hog hunt. My longest shot was only about 260yards, but still good fun. When i was there we didnt see too many the first couple days because of the rain, the plants are all green and they're eating that instead of coming to the feeders as much. You having the same problem? We fixed it by using a hog squeeler, worked surprisingly well, had about 15hogs step out within 5minutes after 2hours of seeing nothing. Just thought i'd drop that tip congratz again on the shot.
