That's like a 1/4" jump off the lands. Nothing wrong with it that far away?

If you get good accuracy it is a moot point what the jump is. It is a given that less/no jump will make it easier to get an accurate load, but with some calibers like my stw and 7rum is really isn't possible or desirable to load to the lands. You want a bit of bullet run to smooth out your pressure peak. I'm at about .4" run to the lands with my 7rum.

I've loaded .270 for perhaps four decades, and .30-06 for three.

Am I correct that 4831 and 4064 are possibly too fast for the STW?
