Ar15 Upper?

Right now I have a bushmaster varmint ar15 in .223 and its an awesome gun. Shoots right with my bolt guns but with the heavy 24" barrel and the 6x18x40 leupold its a little heavy and awkward for calling coyotes. I was wanting to get another upper in maybe a 16" or 18" standard contour barrel thats a little more handy for close in shots. Maybe mount a red dot sight or lower power scope on it. I'm not sure if this is a lot to ask but I still want it to be an accurate rifle, at least 3/4moa accuracy at 100 yards. Can anyone recommend who makes some good uppers and any experience you have with them. Any input welcome. Thanks!

Re: Ar15 Upper?

Noveski builds a good upper; Rock River is also up there, but not at the same level as Noveski. Also, try the smith at 1r15.com.

Thinking of Alexander Arms .243 WSSM , but 6.8 SPC 18" would be nice, cheaper.

Re: Ar15 Upper?

Rock River prices seem pretty hard to beat, and the handful of rifles that I've used RRA kits on were at least 1MOA with any ammo put to them. Hand loading will get you .5MOA fairly easy. Selecting a factory load they prefer will get you around the .75MOA you're looking for, maybe better.
