hello to all i am in the market for a AR15 can anyone help me tell me which one to buy i am thinking using it for the home and range. and also which cal 223 0r 308.

The 223 is a less expensive round than a 308, if you want a 308 look at the M14. If you want the AR15 get one chambered for 5.56 NATO round. Buy an entry level AR15 and fix it up the way you want it. Rock River, Stag, DPMS are good weapons, Bushmaster has issues, Century Arms are misc. parts. Buy one with steel upper and lower, no composite materials. Have fun with it, there are accessories too numerous to list for the AR15.

DPMS and Bushmaster are in the same company.

I vote RRA for the money, they have pretty good fit.

AR-10s look around, some use different magazines, for 308. They shoot like AR 15s, a little more recoil, verry manageable. They are just as accurated off the shelf compared to AR 15, on average will be more accurate than M1A ( the civilian M14), especially off the shelf.

No one makes one with a steal upper and the LMT MWS/MRP is the best choice out their. It is the only system that offers true modularty.

223/ 5.56 is definately the cheapest way to go if you plan on doing some shooting. While I have a DPMS and really like it and have zero issues with it, I would have loved to have bought either a Rock River Arms and if not that a Stagg Arms.

If you by chance have a .243 long gun, that too could be a choice. I thought about it, but decided that I would go with the 5.56.
