Any opinions on Remington r25 243
Thinking about one of these but would like opinions (good or bad) from anyone that's tried one.
Thanks

Re: Any opinions on Remington r25 243
I have owned a Remington R-25 in 7mm-08. It is superbly accurate with .5 MOA with hand loads or factory ammo. Feeds reliably, no issues at all. I really like the rifle.

Thanks Greyfox
I thought about the 7mm-08 but I have everything to reload 243 and want to use it for coyote and deer.

I think the rifle will do fine in either caliber. A shooter at my range had one and it appeared to shoot as well ad my 7mm08. The rifle is actually a DPMS, who is owned by the dame parent company as Remington.

This is exactly right, its simply a camo DPMS and theres nothing wrong with them they make great guns. But go with the .308 or better yet go with the 6.5 Creedmoor for more accuracy and distance. The Creedmoor is definately on my wishlist.

Re: Any opinions on Remington r25 243
I have one in 243. I bought the gun used, and got a good deal on it, although I don't care much for the cammo paint, etc. (currently removing the cammo and base coat paint). I used it this year during gun deer season. With multiple kills ranging from 30 yards to 250 yards. I have shot the Reming. Core Lokts (100gr) and Federal Soft Points (100gr) with accuracy at about 1.5" at 100 yards. Accuracy is good enough for deer hunting, but may get better with handloads. I will be trying this after I finish stripping the cammo print off of the rifle and reassembling it. Also, I haven't had any reliability issues so far. Overall, I am glad I bought it, besides the cammo paint, I like everything else about it.

Opinion...it's a grossly overpriced DPMS with a camo dip.
Buy or build with the features you actually want, dip it later if you choose to, and you'll still have money left in your pocket.
