Recall - 2013 TAC Elite/Ordnance man. prior to Nov 1st

PSE just announced a recall for TAC Elite Ordnance crossbows manufactured before Nov. 1st 2013. Here is a link to the recall wording on PSE's website. Crossbow Recall

I have spoken at length with PSE's production and engineering managers and the recall is because of a dangerous situation where a small pin can fall out of one of the gears in the TAC cranking mechanism. If the pin gets caught under the trigger, the hammer will not cock and therefore can cause the bow to fire right as it reaches full draw. PSE has a simple fix for the problem but obviously needs all owners of Elite/Ordnance crossbows purchased prior to Nov 1st to send their bow in to have the repair made.

While they have your bow, they will also address some other (non dangerous) issues such as the arrow vane clearance problem some have mentioned in our forum (another easy fix).

I know this is extremely frustrating during the hunting season.

If anyone has any questions, feel free to call or email me.

Re: Recall - 2013 TAC Elite/Ordnance man. prior to Nov 1st

Hello Andy, I own a TAC Elite with serial 2120166 and send it to the PSE so I'll just take me to my seller.
Please could you put some pictures that best represents this pin which would be responsible for the problem?
Another thing, that problem would be the "Also they will address some other (not dangerous) issues: such as the arrow vane clearance problem"?
Do you mean to say the problem of breaking the carbon rods because of the nock plastic that is damaged?
Thank you very much!

"Arrow vane clearance problem" refers to the arrow vanes (feathers) touching the cables when fired.

Here is a picture of the pin that can fall out.

Re: Recall - 2013 TAC Elite/Ordnance man. prior to Nov 1st

Thank you Andy for the information you have given me and for the email!
Forgive my Italian but I'm using the google translator.

Last night I checked my Elite for good, then it seems that this pin be pulled out because the hex head screw does not tighten well the steel pin, the rest of the hexagonal them for that.
Concerning the other problem that I've written friction between the cables and power tabs there are still bad at reading .. I do not understand, in Tac15i this problem was not there and it presents the Elite should be the crossbow in which they solved everything?
Something I'm not wrong ... indeed makes me think!
I'm wondering if it's a good thing to raise the cams changing the working position on the central axis that connects to the limbs, it was better if the cylinders were sliding lower cable or thicker.

As far as I can tell what he means, he is correct I believe also that larger diameter cable guards are needed but in conjunction with the bushings.... Also this is downright ridiculous! A company is supposed to get better and progress, I like my Elite but I mean really??
