best but easiest

ok guys,

whats the best GPS, but is also easy to use? overhead mapping, topo? wanting to buy one but have no idea which one to get. hand held of course

    If you have a droid phone. Download BackCountry Navigator. I absolutely love it.

    Get the Garmin GPSMAP 62s. Best battery life, best reception, easy to use

    You might be able to get it for the iphone as well. Definitely worth it. $10 and it will out do most handhold gps. Atv trail maps, blm maps, topo, google earth, tons of maps. Just download the maps for where you wont have service a bam. Track and record trails, save locations, tells you elevation, speed, location, and a pile of other info

    Planning is required when using your phone as a GPS. Just don't forget to download your map tiles before you head out of service or you are SOL. Also keep in mind that you may not get reception in thick timber or canyon areas like you would with a handheld GPS that has a larger GPS receiver like the 62s

    Cabelas has an app for the iphone....looks pretty nice. will check it out.
