The reason for seating against the lands is to align the bullet and create zero head space.

If you decide to go this way you MUST REDUCE your powder charges.

If you seat for freebore it is much safer under hunting
conditions,(i.e temp changes,multiple shots)

EXAMPLE
Weatherby factory ammo should not be used in a custom
rifle with standard freebore or pressures will be dangerous.

They load very hot and lots of freebore is how thet get
away with it.

Allowing the bullet to move slows the pressure spike.

As for the differences of .005 to .050 if its not touching
it want help allignment so seat .020 to .050 for safety and
velocity.

You can get very good accuracy and still have lots of freebore with good loading techniques.
