Paper goods
By Jim Collier
When you are going to travel several thousand miles and hunt in several different states for several different animals it is hard to keep track of all of the paper work you will need.
A three ring binder with the plastic sleeves will keep everything you need where you need it when you need it. I organize mine by state. I have one notebook for hunting antelope in Wyoming and another for hunting in Idaho.
In the Wyoming notebook, I will have all of my tags and conservation stamps, and little baggies to use to put them in my hunting pack. I will next have my printed drop charts and then the maps. Then I will have locations of sporting good stores, wild game butchers and other information. Finally, I will have any manuals that are particular to antelope hunting such as the Nightforce reticle manual. I will have the hunting regs in some pocket of the notebook.
In the Idaho notebook, I will have the same stuff but it will pertain to elk and deer hunting. The first time I went to Idaho, I hunted chukars before the season opened but a guy told me I was doing wrong so I checked the regs and sure enough I could only hunt grouse. It is easy to get confused and make a mistake, but if you have all of your paperwork in one place you can find what you need when you need it.
