Cover The Crown Of Your Barrel To Protect It
To protect the crown of your barrel, get a 2 liter, or 3 liter soda bottle top and punch two holes in the lower part, run a rubber band through it, and make a chain that will reach back to your bolt handle. This way you can’t forget that you have it on there when you chamber a round, and your muzzle is protected.

When hunting sambar deer or pigs in thick bush in Australia we tape barrel muzzle with a red tape to protect barrel from dirt or rubbish coming in an causing possble injury. You can shoot without danger while your barrel is protected during the stalk and walking around hills.
